Vox’s Today Explained podcast is one I never miss on a daily basis. In one show, usually about 20 minutes in length, they break down a piece of recent, relevant news to help you understand it. Just one subject matter so you really can explore the topic in-depth.
Today Explained covers everything from political news to current events, allowing you to be caught up with with the latest that’s going on in the world.
It’s wonderfully produced and is quick to the point. By the end of the 20 minutes or so it’s on, you’ll have learned something and won’t be bored. Recently I’ve learned about liberal New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s resignation, and how this #MeToo supporter has now had four women come forward, accusing him of assault. Also recently, I learned more about the bus of 40 Central Americans who traveled north in hopes of seeking asylum in the United States. It helped me understand where they were from and the reason why they would rather take the chance to make that 2,000-mile journey than to stay in their own countries.
The news moves so fast these days and it’s hard for us to fully understand everything that’s happening. This a great podcast to help you get a better understanding of what’s going on in the world.
When I discovered the podcast, I actually binged on all the episodes I missed because I liked it that much, even when some of the news was older! I recommend adding it to your playlist, for sure. Plus you’ll get great coupon codes for things like mattresses and will be entertained during the breaks. Because who doesn’t like a good night’s sleep?
