Last Friday, April 21, I did something different that I hadn’t done before: Attend a fashion show.
A good friend of mine, Rachel Smith (follow her at @rachelinindy), invited me to Midwest Fashion Week since it was close to my apartment.
We attended the first night of the show, held at Bella Marcia at 120 E. Market Street in Downtown Indianapolis.
This was the first time attending a fashion show and it was super neat because opening night was all work by college students. They were all so talented!
Bella Marcia had an awesome vibe and they did an excellent job with the arrangement. Once you walked in on the second floor it was upscale with great blue lighting. They had chairs lined up along the runway with white chair covers and blocks around the room for the models to stand on. It was an open show, which meant you could get up and check out the models up close to look at the fashion, take pictures, etc.
They also had a cash bar that took every bit of my not to partake in since I’m doing the Whole 30. The bartenders were very nice though, even though I was lame and got water.
I was very impressed with all of the designers and I saw many things that I would actually wear.
I’m super glad Rachel invited me, it was a neat experience for us both to try something new around the city! Be sure to follow her and below are some photos from the event.
