“Did you get the sign off the door!?” I frantically texted my husband two weeks after we moved to a different unit in our building.
“Yes, I did.”
Whew. Not that it mattered if we hadn’t, it’s just an elevator ride away.
We’d made the decision to move and it’s hands down one of the best things we’ve done this year, even if we’re not totally settled a month later. We’re just about there.
I was skeptical. Downsizing to a one bed, one bath? Well the one bed was fine, I had thought…. It was the one bathroom situation I was unsure of after growing up with four people in one bathroom. Lots of planning and comprimises.
Figuring out what to do for the things we don’t have space for has been the top challenge. Luckily we were able to get a storage unit in our building and then the rest went to my parents. Still though, it makes it tricky for the things that we need to keep in here.
The best thing? It’s quite freeing.
Clutter makes me anxious. If I don’t need it or use it, it can go. Fine by me. We don’t really have any closets or drawers filled with junk because we have to be smart with the space we have.
