When it comes to lips I am not a fan of traditional lipstick. It never lasts, comes off on everything and I’m constantly afraid it’s all over my teeth. I realized this many many many years ago when I magically discovered all day lip wear with a topcoat. Then I also discovered a new serum I use with it that just takes the cake.
I am a huge fan of this type of all day lipwear. Even better, you can find at your local drug store, which I’ve pretty much moved away from when it comes to buying my make-up. Except for the lips.
Covergirl Outlast and Maybelline Superstay are my two go-tos. I love both equally and have using both for years. What I love about these is they do stay all day. I can put it on before work and I still have color eight hours later. Never comes off on a glass, never gets on my teeth. Is it as fresh as it was first thing in the morning by 5 p.m.? No. But that’s what the topcoat is for. The topcoat is a clear chapstick-like smooth finish that you put on your lips once the lipstick dries. This can be used throughout the day to make it feel fresh and make the color look fresh and new.
The one downfall to the all day lipwear is I would go through the topcoat faster than the lipstick which lead to my lips being dry. At one point a couple months ago my lips were in rough shape and I needed something to fix them. One day as I was re-stocking on makeup supplies at Ulta, the advertisement for It Cosmetic’s CC+ lip serum caught my eye. This lipwear comes in the form of a gloss and on their website they state it has anti-aging ingredients such as collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acids and nine essential butters and oils.
This was everything I wanted, plus it came in a great shade. (My favorite is “Love”). Since using it, I’ve seen a complete change in my lips. They are smooth and hydrated. This does come off on glasses, straws, etc. but does last awhile. I like to pair it with the all day lipwear instead of using the topcoat. I highly recommend it to keep your lips looking hydrated and fresh.
