The elections are over. Finally. I’m so glad to be a part of a nation that gets to vote, but it seems like more and more the months leading up to the election just get vicious.
First, with the candidates, the ads get so negative. As a voter, I just want to hear what you’re going to do for me. Quit telling me how your opponent messed up and tell me what you’re going to do if you’re elected, or tell me what you’ve done.
Second, the country really becomes divided. As Americans, we all get a say. But people get so worked up about their views that what seems to be a healthy debate becomes this huge nasty argument.
I think all of us, myself included, should take a step back before we are quick to point a finger or push an opinion out there. And I hope for the next election, America can get our act together. Many of us are acting like snotty brats with sixth grade mean girl behavior. We’re lucky to live in a country where we get a say, but we also need to remember that we all get a say. So have a little more respect for someone else who may be on the other side of an issue.
