Usually end of the year blogs are sappy and reminiscent. They’re also looking forward to the next year after looking back at all the bad things that happened.
Well you know what? 2011 wasn’t bad for me. Sure, I had my moments. But all in all, it was a great year.
I think one of the best things about it were getting settled into my job and having that kind of stability. Then also everything that’s happened with Cosmo Radio. I’ve been a listener for years, but finally being able to connect with people and make new friends was amazing.
Then to top it off, New York has been at the top of my list. It’s always felt right to me–so not only being able to go there, but then to meet all my friends from Cosmo Radio there was just the most amazing thing ever. Can’t really describe it any other way.
I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot this year. I’ve done a ton of really neat project at my job, then a few other little writing things here and there. It’s cool to do something you love. That’s what I’m doing.
I’ve noticed a ton of people posting how they are going to change everything and 2012 will be better. Just because the date changes doesn’t mean your life will. You have to make the changes. You have to dump the people that bring you down. You have to leave the job you hate. You have to finish that project you’ve been working on. You have to work out and lose that weight. You have to just do.
So if something brought you down in 2011, don’t drag it into 2012. Make a change. The interim might suck a little, but what’s worse–things being kind of “eh” for awhile, or being miserable for a year?
Here’s to a great 2012. And the world not ending next December. Cheers.
